Making Love Last a Lifetime by Adam Hamilton
This book, written by a United Methodist minister, is actually geared toward a week-by-week couples seminar. Each chapter ends with a small list of activities for the couples to perform together and separately as well as scripture passages to be read and studied.
Even though my wife and I did not read this book together yet and I did not perform any of the after chapter activities I still found the subject matter to be insightful and quite valuable. This is a book I would recommend to not only couples but single people as well. It is also not just a book to be read by couples whose relationships are already in trouble.
Hamilton takes great pains to not only cover the issues that can help a relationship last a lifetime but also the problems that can lead to trouble. His use of biblical passages would also be sparing enough that the non-religous readers would not feel as if they were being “preached at” while making their way through the book.
Whether you are single or married, in a strong relationship or a troubled one, I would recommend that you get a copy of this book and give it a try. You just might learn a little something about yourself and your significant other.
